APPLETON, Wis. (Jan. 22, 2019) – Fleet Farm today announced plans to open two new stores in Iowa. The new Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids store will be the company’s fourth and fifth Iowa stores, respectively.
The Cedar Falls Fleet Farm will be located at the intersection of Highway 58 and Highway 20. The Cedar Rapids Fleet Farm will be located at the intersection of Highway 100 (Collins Road) and Edgewood Road Northeast.
Construction on the two 190,000 square foot stores began in December. Once complete, customers in both cities can expect to find a broad product assortment including apparel and accessories for women, men and kids, an extensive pet care line, select pantry items and snacks, toys and sporting goods and home items. In addition, the Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids Fleet Farm stores will offer automotive services and a gas station.
“As Fleet Farm continues to expand across the Midwest, we’re pleased with our customers’ response to our unique combination of products and services,” said Fleet Farm’s Vice President of Real Estate and Construction Tom Carrico. “We are proud to be expanding our store presence in Iowa, creating jobs and being part of a compelling retail growth story.”
When the stores open later this year, they will each employ more than 200 team members. Hiring for the new stores will begin as construction nears completion. In addition to sales floor and cashier teams, the Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids Fleet Farm stores will hire for specialty roles to work in the automotive service center.
